![]() ![]() What do you suggest that I do now? I have been using Harmony remotes since the 1990s and have never had any issues prior to this. The Harmony Elite remote controller did give instructions on pairing and also told me that the pairing failed. Just like before the second time I tried to pair the Harmony hub it did not show up on the Chromecast screen. Theres the Chromecast itself which plugs directly into your TV via HDMI, a separate remote with a built-in mic and Google Assistant button for voice controls and a power adapter with a USB cable. I restarted the Harmony hub and and Chromecast dongle, and tried again. However it would not pair with the Harmony Hub. I tried tinskips idea of using ASUS Nexus player and Chromecast found it immediately. I also reset the hub to it's initial settings and went through the setup procedure and checked to see that the hub had the latest firmware. I restarted everything and now the keyboard did not show up. As I had a bluetooth keyboard attached to my smart TV I disregarded it. The first time I tried to pair them a keyboard came up on the screen. I have been trying for some days now to pair my Harmony Hub with my Google Chromecast with Google TV with no luck. Why can it not ask which device controls playback / navigation? When you define an activity, the setup process asks which device controls the volume. It's like the activity fails to "wake up" the Chromecast device.Īnother problem is that on all the activities I have defined, the remote "menu" button gets mapped to the Sony Android TV "home" command instead of the Chromecast "home" command, so when you push it, the TV switches away from HDMI1 to Android TV mode. I have to use the Chromecast remote to wake it up and get video, but once awake, I can use the Harmony remote just fine to navigate around. When I select "Watch Smart TV" for example, the input switches to HDMI1 as it should, but there is no signal from the Chromecast. I have added all sorts of activities, including one for 'Watch TV", one for "Watch Smart TV" and custom activities involving the TV and the Chromecast, but none of them work well. I added all my devices, including my TV (network control instead of IR), and the Chromecast ("Chromecast with Google TV" is recognized as a supported device type). After a few failed attempts, I decided to nix my configuration and start over. ![]() I am, however, having a really really hard time getting it to work with my Harmony Hub. The interface on my Sony Android TV has become so slow and bloated, I decided to get a Chromecast with Google TV. ![]()
